Ever since its inception, the Hazards Centre has been able to contribute to the creation and functioning of several alliances comprising community groups and organizations. The guiding principle of the alliance-building activities of the Centre is to help develop, and sustain the widest possible platforms of groups to combat the neo-liberal forces at all levels possible. This is done by linking groups working on a range of issues around themes of common interest, and developing critiques of and alternatives to dominant policy paradigms through participatory research, informed interventions and dialogic practices.
